How to Prepare Your Property for Pest Control Treatment

Proper preparation is essential for effective and safe pest control

The treatment usually takes 20 to 50 minutes, depending on the size of the property and the method used. The service is carried out by a trained technician using professional equipment and protective gear.

After the treatment, the property should remain closed for up to 6 hours. The products used need time to take full effect. Once this time has passed, the space should be thoroughly ventilated.

Preparation Checklist:

Vacate the treated area and remove all pets

Food, kitchen utensils, and children’s items should also be removed or securely covered. If an aquarium is present, seal it tightly with foil and turn off aeration.

Ensure access to baseboards

Move furniture at least 15–20 cm away from the walls to allow proper treatment.

Remove wall decorations

Take down pictures, clocks, and other decorative items. Secure fragile objects.

Protect electronic devices

Unplug and cover electronic equipment such as TVs, monitors, and other devices with foil.

Store food and personal items

Keep food, dishes, and cosmetics in cabinets or sealed bags. Secure personal belongings.

Ensure all windows are closed and ventilation grilles are sealed if necessary.

Cleaning After Treatment:

Use standard cleaning products. Wearing protective gloves is recommended.

  • Do not wash floors near walls (within 15–20 cm), under furniture, or around baseboards
  • Wash dishes before use
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces such as kitchen countertops, door handles, and tables
It is important not to remove the treatment residues completely — the products must remain active to ensure long-term effectiveness.
